Israeli TV Programs and Arab TV Channels: A Palestinian View (in Arabic)

Auther : Mohammed Hashem Salous

The study attempts to perceive the amount of viewing that a Palestinian audience, within the “Green line” devotes to Channel One of Israeli TV and Arab TV channels.

The results point out that this audience observes its Arab identity and takes in the events and developments taking place in the Arab countries. It suggests that the viewers hold that Israeli television is more attentive to their affairs than Arab channels. They believe that Israeli TV aims to influence their understanding of the nature of conflict in the area and weaken the morale of the Arab viewers.

The study reaches some conclusions and recommendations for depicting the feelings of the Palestinians living under Israeli occupation since 1948 and for conveying what they think of Israeli TV programs, contents and the Arab TV stations and Satellite channels.
