Auther : A. Nashawati, L. Lutfiyya, Y. Abu-Helu

The main objectives of the study were two:

a) Identify the relationship between creativity, intelligence and academic achievement.

b) Determine the extent of the independency of these factors from each other.

Creativity was measured by the three factors of originality, flexibility and fluency, while academic achievement was measured by the students grades averages in each of the following school subjects: Islamic studies, Arabic Language, Social Studies, mathematics, and general science. In telligence was measured by Catel’s intelligence test 9figural forms).

Correlation coefficients between all the variables under study were calculated and analyzed. The results of the analysis indicated the following:

a) The existence of statistically significant (=0.05) positive correlation’s between intelligence and each of the three factors of creativity (originality, flexibility, and fluency).

b) There were statistically significant (=0.05) positive correlation’s.

The researchers recommended that educators should pay more attention to all creativity factors in one way or another because of the importance of the effects of these factors on the student’s academic achievement in general.
