Forms of Anti-Social Behavior of the Animation Film's Characters (in Arabic)

This paper presents the results of a study which aims at exploring the formal properties of the animation films characters.

A content analysis was carried out on a sample of the animation series from September 3 to October 21, 1994.

The study has shown the following results:

  1. There is a tendency in cartoon series for characters to show criminal behavior in many scenes.
  2. Imagination is the most important source for the content of cartoon stories.
  3. Most of the crimes were considered anti-social crimes.
  4. The characteristics of the criminal characters in the animation were: A young man with a bad image, who doesnt belong to a specific social class, lives an abnormal family life, more intelligent than other characters.
  5. Most of the criminal characters used their limbs in violent conflicts.
  6. There was no logical punishment for the criminals in most cases of crimes in the cartoon series.
