Addressing God and the Perceptions of those Address (Arabic)

Auther : Ahmad Hamad Ahmad

Addressing is not achieved except by means of words and expressions. Such words and expressions are the essential ingredients for building any language. Any methodology describing for people the orthodox path, in order to follow its steps, must be in a language whose expressions and words are clear, so that they would realize its aim and content well. In as much as the methodology entered upon is elevated in aim and original in content, its language is also to be the most elevated and original, to match the elevation and originality which it (i.e. the methodology) is distinguished by.

Words and expressions are expressed by texts. In any methodology, texts only bear principles and directions. The denotation of words and expressions to their meanings is closely connected to the denotation of texts to principles. The more such words and expressions are connected to their meanings, in a way that these meanings come to mind upon uttering them, the clearer the denotation of the texts - which are composed of such words and expressions - to the principles and directions they comprise.

The issue of the languages which people use in addressing God is an issue which needs some investigation in this research, particularly regarding development and evolution. There is no decisive view in this area. However, we tried to resort to the intellect in favoring some views. Our dealing with the issue required us to make clear the extent of the excellence of the Arabic language in words and expressions, over the other languages.

The issue of the methodologies by which people are guided in the path of their lives is an issue which also needs explication in this research, together with concentrating on the Quranic methodology and the efforts of interpreters in perceiving words and expressions, as well as the efforts of jurisprudents in gathering principles and directions, concerning it (i.e., the Quranic methodology).

Since modern means of communication and transport have connected the worlds terminals and made the world like a family whose members are strongly connected, we need to think seriously, in these times, about the language whose sedateness qualifies it to be the language of the world and of the methodology whose originality qualifies it to be the guide of the path.
