Irony and its Styles in Mohamed Al-Murr's Stories (in Arabic)

Auther : Rasheed Basheet Bushaeer

This paper pursues aspects of Irony and its styles in the stories of the contemporary Emirati writer (Mohamed Al-Murr), and these are the styles the most important of which colud be defined in the paradox, exaggeration, repetition, glorification and scorn, surprise and pranks.

In addition to these styles which spring from the nature of the internal narrative structure, there are other styles which spring from the nature of the linguistic structure, such as the ironical titles, the allegory, the ironical dialogue, and the sound imitation.

The paper concludes that Mohamed AI-Murr has used mockery styles and has made them into a tool for criticizing some of the moral, behavioural, and social aspects, but this usage has not lost Mohamed AI-Murrs stories their literary gratification.
