Campuses Design from the Islamic Roles Side of View

Auther : Dr. Eslam H. AL-Ghanaemy

Few years ago, Islam rules and principles are exposed to hard attacking. It is said that Islam rules and principals are not matching with high technology and are considered a major factor in delaying the civilization process for the Moslem countries in general and the urbanization process in particular. In difference, Moslem Architects and Urbanists have another concept and ideas for this harassment. That they deal with the urbanization process and problems following the Islamic rules and orders achieving their goals with proper results and achieving the social needs and determining their requirements. So, we have the opportunity to carry out and clarify the correction of these mistakes, which deteriorate and harass our religion and consequently our life and performance all over the world.

The purpose of this research is to defend the Islamic rules and principals in the urban branch in addition to clarifying the positive face of Islam. Trying to overcome this attack that directed to destroy the Islam, I tried to illustrate the roles of urbanization from the Islamic view to cover the negative impacts of this attack. Then a case study of Campus, which was designed in Saudi Arabia, was taken as sample of urban project, which followed the Islamic rules and principles in its design. I tried to explain that there is no conflict between the Islamic religion advisers and the international architecture and urban standards. But also, the Islamic guidance helped in achieving a proper process and qualified design, which aid to achieve success of the campus quality standard and performance.

Looking for presenting the proper emergence and performance of Islamic responsibility and principles, I ended the research by comparing the international standards, that were followed in the design and the Islamic characteristics that were followed and taken in the design of the project through presenting that there is no conflict but finding a high performance of cooperation and assistance, which gained to the design and gained an international prize.
