Advancment in e-payment for e-commerce in the State of Kuwait

     This study aims to explore the different e-payment types that are currently available and are used by the Kuwaiti shoppers. The study sample size is 350 (121 male and 229 female). The goals of the study are to identify: the most common and well known e-payment tools, the most well satisfied e-payment tool, the users' intention to use the e-payment tools, the obstacles against using the e-payment tools, and evaluating the most critical variables that affect the e-payment alternatives. In addition, the study aims to explore the demographics, cultural, and technical variables that affect the e-payment uses. The study found that the most well-known way of electronic payment is through K-net (96% know, and 83% use). However, the e-payment method that will be used mostly in the future is Cash U (average 2.93). Regarding the obstacles and the fear of using the - payment, the hackeing concerns was the most significance factor (average 3.58) followed by the lack of local regulations and laws that protect individual's privacy (average 3.41). The study also shows that there are clear differences between the users regarding the payment through K-net, pre-paid gas cards, Just Ask, and Cash U methods. The age variable was statistically important when paying through credit card, K-net, pre-paid gas cards, kiosk, Internet banking cards, world shop, and mobile payments. Lastly, the most important variable in the study is the Internet knowledge (experience). The Internet experience was found statistically significant for our sample when paying by credit cards, K-net, Internet Banking cards, pre-paid gas cards, kiosks, PayPal, mobile, and civil ID payments.
