Auther : Dr. Hend B. Al-Ma'seb

Professional practice skills in Clinical Social Work are used by social workers to establish a professional relationship with clients which helps to develop good relationships and successful interventions. The current study examined the scope of social workers' work in the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the Ministry of Health, and other sectors in the State of Kuwait which includes activities involving communication, interviewing, and negotiating skills. In addition, it examined the differences between clinical social workers in terms of nationality, specialization, and place of work while practicing their skills. The results showed a general increase in the use of communication and negotiating skills by clinical social workers in different Kuwaiti sectors.  As for the interviewing skill, the study indicated more employment of it in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor than in the rest of the other sectors. The results also pointed to significant differences in social workers' practice in terms of nationality, specialization, and place of work.
