Objective: This Study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a Group Counseling program based on experiential approach in improving self-esteem and family climate among an equal sample of violated wives. Methods: A sample of (20) wives were chosen from the center of women's program at Al- Husain Camp in Amman city, with an average age of (30,5) years. They were randomly distributed into two groups: experimental and control, each one consisted of (10) wives. Two scales were administered, one of them was self-esteem scale, and the second was family climate scale. In addition, a group-counseling program based on the experiential approach/Satir model was developed, and applied through (16) sessions, two sessions weekly among the experimental group. Results: The results showed that there were statistical differences between the scores of experimental group and the control group on the measures of self-esteem and family climate in favor of experimental group in the post-test, which indicated the effectiveness of the group-counseling program. In addition, the results revealed the persistent effect of the program after one-month follow-up. Conclusion: Counseling programs based on experiential approach are effective in improving self-esteem and the family climate of violated women who live in an Arab culture which is differentiated from Western culture in which scientist Virginia Satir's approach was applied.

'Arab Spring'- Time for the UN Security Council: Towards Legitimacy, Credibility and Efficiency

Objective: The paper seeks to examine the possibility of amending the UN Charter, especially reforming the Security Council in view of its failure during the Arab Spring. Despite the Council's accomplishment in the Libyan case, it failed to deal with the events of the Arab Spring in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and Syria. Methodology: The study mainly relied on the approach of the international system as well as the descriptive analytical approach. Observation of Arab Spring, as an experimental case, was implemented to mainly evaluate the Libyan and Syrian cases in order to reveal the fundamental differences in the mechanisms used by the UN Security Council to protect innocent civilians in the two states. Results: The study's main findings were: (1) UNSC's role during the Arab Spring period was very limited, narrow and characterized by double standards; (2) Standards of credibility, legitimacy and efficiency need thorough examination which requires an urgent reconsideration of the role assumed by the security council to maintain international peace and security. Conclusion: The Arab Spring represented a golden opportunity to amend the UN's Charter by expanding the permanent membership to include Germany, Brazil, Japan and India, which may lead to more credibility and efficiency and create a balance that makes it difficult to dominate decision-making either individually or bilaterally.

Assessing the Spatial Relationship between Public Schools and Fast Food Restaurants in Kuwait by Using Geographic Information System

Objectives: Clustering of fast food restaurants is one of the biggest factors that affect childhood obesity. This study examines the spatial relationship between public schools and fast-food restaurants in Kuwait by using a geographic information system (GIS). Methods: Buffer and Service Area tools were used at three levels 500, 1,000, and 1,500 meters around fast food restaurants locations to examine the accessibility of schools to fast food restaurants in the study area. Geographically weighted regression (GWR) was also performed to assess the spatial relationship between the fast food and public schools. Results: The study results show a higher percentage of schools that have access to fast food restaurants for both the Buffer and Service Area tools. The GWR results shows also high correlation between fast food and public schools. Conclusion: The use of these geospatial tools could be effective an effective way to assess the spatial relationship between public schools and fast food restaurants; this, in turn, could help the policymakers adapt the necessary measures and lawmakers adopt potential regulations that might limit fast food restaurants from operating near or close to schools.

Comparative Morphometric Analysis of Network Characteristics of Bisha Drainage Basin: Comparative Study between the DEM and Saudi Topographic Map

Objective: This study is based on a comparison of a random sample of 10 Wadi Bishah tributaries network extracted from the SRTM DEM 30m and SRTM DEM 90m digital elevation models and the 1/50000 topographic map. The comparison process was applied using several statistical methods by the analysis tools available in the statistical analyze tools of SPSS23 to examine the variance and differences between the stream numbers. Methods: This study used the Shapiro-Wilk, the Homogeneity Leven, ANOVA and LSD statistical tests available with Analysis tools of SPSS23 software. Results: The statistical tests showed the normal distriburion of stream number and their lengths. The Homogeneity test of variance showed the significant variances of the first, second and third streams orders at the significance level of 0.05. The ANOVA and the LSD tests confirmed theses results.
Conclusion: The results of the morphometric comparative analysis showed that the stream numbers and lengths derived from the 1/50000 topographic map are higher than those of the SRTM DEM 30m and SRTM DEM 90m digital elevation models, 62% of the total number and lengths of the first, second and third streams orders.
