Auther : Omar El-Shiekh
The study attempted to investigate the relationship between attitudes towards science and personality traits among Secondary and Preparatory Students in Jordan. Eight hundred Students were selected randomly from eight Scondary School in Amman’ district: 400 male and 400 female with equal number from both cycles. Students were administered two tests: one on attitudes toward science and the other Cattle Personality inventory (16P F). In accordance with their scores on attitudes, students in each group were partitioned into high, medium and low. Means of scores of high, medium and low students the sixteen Personality factors of Cattle were compared using Wilkes. Moreover, means of scores were also compared on each factor using one way analysis of variance and Schiff test. It was found that students differing in their attitudes toward science showed different levels of personality traits. In addition, personality traits associated with different levels of attitudes seemed to be sex-dependent.
