Patterns and Trends of Palestinian Migration (1914 – 1980)
Auther : Moussa Samha
The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors affecting the Palestinian movement in 1948, 1967 and after the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The Palestinian people practiced both forced and voluntary migration, the second resulting from the first. After the 1967 war the occupation authorities exercised economic and political stress to force people to emigrate from the occupied territories especially the labor force. The occupied authorities established many Jewish settlements in the West Bank, having in mind that those settlements may convert the demographic face of the occupied land throughout the eviction of more Palestinians. This must be counteracted by the steadfastness and persistence of the Palestinians in the occupied land.
