Single System Designs : Types and Utility in Social Work

The dependability of social work in the Arab world has been implicitly questioned. This is revealed in many forms , ranging from lack of appropriate recognition to social services being provided by non-professionals lacking the basics of the trade. Both social- work practitioners and educators are to be blamed for this status of the profession. It is time Arab practitioners demonstrated effectiveness with clients, so that they would be considered dependable . single system designs , almost ignored in Arab literature to data, can help social workers evaluate their intervention and improve its efficiency.
Single system designs consist of a methodology and practice model, at the same time . their use can help make the profession more scientifically oriented. The article presents a critical review of single – system designs , their historic development , utility and limitations.
