The study researchers both the legal regulations international concepts governing the rights of POWs to the safeguard of both their lives and human dignity , at the hands of their captors. The purpose of the study is to assess how the captors construe the rights of POWs ; what sort of demands the captors are entitled to impose on the POWs , according to international regulations ; what roles the POWs are expected to take on in order to be entitled to these rights ; finally , which rules  the Iraqi authorities have breached concerning the POWs captured before the cessation of the Gulf war activities and those arrested after the war . the findings of the study provide many answers concerning the situation of Kuwaiti nationals detained as POWs in Iraq .
