The Structural Analysis of Domestic Input-Output Ratios of the Kuwaiti Economy
Auther : Jafar Abbass Haji
The main Kuwaiti economy for the years 1970/1, 1972/3 and 1975/6 was to choose the scenario from a set of input-output tables that best elaborated the importance and weigh of marginal distribution ratios among 24 sectors. A model based on an input-output technique was chosen, after adjusting the Kuwaiti data so as to fit the purpose of the model.
The general conclusions were as follow:
- The most accurate and best scenario, i.e. the one that illustrates the importance and weight of marginal distribution ratios in the economy, was the domestic input-output table with a separate division for indirect taxes.
- During the period of the study, the production sectors continuously ranked at the top of the table, while service sectors remained at the bottom.
