Self-concept and Emotional Security
Auther : Mahmoud A. Hussein
The purpose of this research is to study the relationship between the self-concept and different levels of emotional security. These variables are formed and affected by factors of socialization, which occur at different growth stages. The Maslow security-insecurity inventory and a specially designed self-concept inventory were given to a random sample of 153 secondary students. The results show that there is a statistically significant relationship between the self-concept and the different levels of emotional security. Those students who have a positive self-concept have a greater feeling of security than those with intermediate or negative self-concepts.
The latter group has the least feeling of security.
