AIDS AN ANALYTIC STUDY IN MEDICAL GEOGRAPHY

After more 12 years of research 1984-1996, no significant success has been achieved towards decisive treatment or vaccination for AIDS. The study defines the disease and describes its symptoms, mode of transmission and its rate of spread. The role of geographical environment in the existence and global spread of the disease is discussed, along with demographic dimension of the disease. The economic, social and psychological effects are also described.
