The Problems of Kuwaiti Youth : Past, Present and Future
Auther : Masry A. Hannourah
This study examines the problems of Kuwaiti youth, especially university students. A questionnaire was devised for the research, based on a content analysis of statements made by students about their past, current and perceived future problems. This was administered to a group of male and female students. Statistical analysis revealed that males had suffered from problems related to lack of entertainment, cognitive dissonance, personal freedom, and interpersonal relations. Comparisons as to sex revealed that females suffer from physical and psychological problems, while males suffer from a lack of opportunities to travel abroad, to express their views and to obtain venues for creative activities. Both sexes expressed a feeling of uncertainty as to financial security in the future. Rank correlation’s revealed that for both sexes the problems were almost similar in the past, present and future.
