The Impact of Individual Values, Organizational Values, Organizational Values and Their Interaction on Attitudes and Behavior
Auther : Abdul-Hafez Mokadem
The article illustrates first the actual debate in social science research concerning individual behavior which is still divided into personalistic and situationist despite the growing school of interactionists. The article attempted also to illustrate the neglected topic of values and their importance of as standards that guide individual and organizational behavior.
The results showed that, while the relationship between individual values and attitudes and behavior was tenuous and complex, organizational values showed strong relationship with the same variables, and therefore are more responsible for their variation then the personalistic and interactionist approach.
The article concludes that (1) the superiority of any approach depends on the centrality and importance of the interacting avows , (2) the tenuity of the persons approach may be due to the type of measures used to measure avows. The rantciny method may not measure the real avows that conduct individual behavior.
