Does Social Security benefits meet the needs of it’s Saudi Recipients?
Auther : Munira A. AL-Saud , Sami A. AL-Damigh
This study aims at determining whether or not the social security benefits meet the needs of the social security recipients in Saudi Arabia. A sample of 300 social security recipients were included utilizing the social survey method. The results of the study revealed that actual poverty line differs from the official poverty line. This was attributed mainly to the fact that the current social security act doesn’t cover certain basic needs such as housing, clothing, utility bills and transportation. This is also important due to the increased hardships facing the prover sectors of society due to decreasing levels of oil prices.
