Ibn Khaldoun in Contemporary Arabic Writings: An Analytical and Classified Study
Auther : Saleh S. Abdelazim
This study seeks to shed some light on the Arabic writings which deal with Ibn Khalduns discourse. It aims to analyze these writings to see how they study Ibn Khalduns writings, especially his well-known Muqaddimah, or Prolegomena. The study classifies Arabic writings into three sections: the first section repeats and reproduces literally what Ibn Khaldun wrote; the second focuses on many issues of his writings; and finally, the third section gives more attention to only one issue of Ibn Khalduns writings.
Keywords: Discourse analysis, Khaldunian discourse, Muqaddimah, Prolegomena, Historical writings, Philosophy of history, Contemporary Arabic thought.
