Auther : Mazen K. Gharaibeh / Basel M. Al-Eideh
The Kuwaiti society has witnessed a strong debate regarding granting women their political rights, specifically their right to vote in the national parliamentary elections. This debate was settled after a parliamentary resolution was passed on May 16, 2005, granting women their political rights. This study aims to explore the impact of granting the Kuwaiti women the right to vote regarding two aspects of Kuwaiti parliament. One impact is in regards to the structure and composition of the parliament, and the other impact is that regarding political streams and future representation of parliament. Furthermore, it aims to investigate the nature of the expected change in the public policies of the State of Kuwait according to the change in the structure of the parliament, and also the distribution of its expected different political streams and their related issues and programs. The study will use the statistical analysis and modeling to project the future parliament numbers of each political stream in the forthcoming national parliamentary elections.
