Auther : Abdullah N. a-Al-Sadhan
The purpose of this study is to identify the amount of leisure time that female university students in Riyadh have, the activities that they do in their leisure time, and the effect of social and economic elements regarding leisure time activities. From this study it is clear that there is an increasing amount of leisure time (on average, four hours and twenty minutes daily) for these students. In terms of priority of leisure time activities, the study shows that amusement activities are the first priority for female university students, followed by cultural activities, emotional activities, and finally, physical activities. It is clear that the quantity of leisure time affects the kind of activity that a student does. In terms of social status, being married has an effect on the amount of leisure time and the type of activity. Another notable effect is the students area (specialization or major) of study. Another variable, economic status, also affects the type and place of activity. It is evident that the students study specialization and economic status are the two variables which most affect leisure time activities.
