Daily data of wind speed from eight stations distributed throughout different geographical regions in Jordan were used to study their temporal and spatial variations. The results obtained by the statistical methods were presented in tables and graphs. It was found that the diurnal winds were stronger than the nocturnal winds in most stations. The highest average at noon was (7.2m/s) in Ras Moneef station, and the lowest was (3.1m/s) in the Wadi Rayan station. Winds in summer were stronger, especially in June and July, in all stations, except in Maan and Shoubak stations where the winds were stronger during winter. Wind speed fluctuated from year to year, but it was stronger in the 1990s. Higher wind speed was recorded in the highlands than in the Ghor and the Badia. Due to the variations of wind speed, it was found that the best power amount could be obtained diurnally and in summer, but the amount was either low, or on the average in most stations.
