Gender Differences in Islamic Jurispruence knowledge: Cross Cultural Study among Kuwaiti, Saudi and Egyptian Societies

The present study aims to identify gender differences and the cultural differences in Islamic jurisprudence knowledge. The study sample consisted of three groups of university students: (422) of Kuwaitis, (299) of Saudis, and (279) of Egyptians. Participants responded to the Islamic jurisprudence knowledge scale. The results revealed that there were significant differences between males and females in the three samples in the total score of the scale. The females obtained the highest means than males in the Kuwaiti and Egyptian sample, while the males obtained the highest means in the Saudi sample. Moreover, the results demonstrated an interaction between gender and culture on Islamic jurisprudence knowledge scale
