Human Deprivation in Fayoum Governorate: A Study in Population Geography and Development

The relationship between the population and development is an interactive relationship in which the population dynamics have an effect on the development prospects and opportunities of improving the quality of life; there has been a tendency to study the direct effect of demographic change in relation to enhancing human welfare or its negative impact through studying and evaluating human deprivation in Fayoum Governorate.
The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach, the regional approach as well as the cartography methods by using the Geographic Information System (GIS), and statistical methods, such as the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software program (SPSS).
The study concluded that most of the districts of the Fayoum Governorate have been subjected to human deprivation at high rates in addition to the human suffering in all the districts of the governorate although in varying degrees.
