The Family and Shaping of the Female Mind in the Egyptian Society: A Comparative Field Study

The study aims at investigating the role of the Egyptian family in shaping female mind. The study tried to analyze four basic components that the family employs to shape 'female mind' namely the social, cultural, enonomic, and political components. The study sample involved 464 women representing three social classes (Urban, Rural, and Bedouin) in the city of Cairo. The researcher developed a scale summing and analyzing the different views related to the Eesults revealed that the family role was effective in shaping the social, component was particularly positive compared to the other components, which showed negativity Moreover, the rural family role was more effective than the roles of the urban and Bedouin families.
