It further aims to relate these factors to variables such as gender, place of residence, college type, family's monthly income, number of family members, parents' level of education, academic year, and accumulated average. This study was applied on (304) students of Yarmouk University, and data were collected by questionnaire. The result of the study revealed that youth in Jordanian universities reject ideological extremism albeit the presence of some of its manifestations. This was clearly shown when expressing opinion on a number of issues including co-education, openness to the West, boycotting Western products, or dealing with people from other faiths. Ideological extremism could mostly be ascribed to social factors, followed by the religious factor, then the political, the academic, and the economic. The study has found some slight differences attributed to gender in favor of females pertaining to political issues, while no differences in ideological extremism factors were attributed to the rest of the study's variables. The study recommended that for effective dealing with ideological extremism, all of the above mentioned social factors should be equally addressed.
