The Psychological and Social Effects Resulting from the Total Lockdown in the State of Kuwait to Confront the Emerging Corona Virus (COVID-19) and its Relationship to the Family Climate in Light of some Variables

Objective: The main aim of the present study is to explore the psychological and social effects resulting from the total lockdown in the State of Kuwait to confront the emerging corona virus (COVID-19), and its relationship to the family climate in light of some variables. Methods: The final sample consisted of (335) different groups of Kuwaiti society. This study included the following tools: a) Scale of Psychological and Social effects resulting from the total lockdown in the State of Kuwait (SPSB), and b) Family Climate Scale (FCS). Results: The results of the study concluded that (65%) of the study sample felt positive psychological effects during the period of the total lockdown, and about (70.3%) of the study sample felt positive social effects during the period of the total lockdown. There were five effective variables in creating the negative psychological and social effects due to the total lockdown in the State of Kuwait to confront the new corona virus, namely: social status, education level, income level, health status and house capacity. There was a statistically significant negative correlation between the negative psychological and social effects and the family climate and its various dimensions. Conclusion: There were psychological and social effects resulting from the total lockdown in the State of Kuwait to confront the emerging corona virus (COVID-19), and these effects increase with the presence of an unstable family climate.
