Relationship between the type A behavior pattern and vocational Interest and job choice
Auther : Huda J. Hasan
This study explores the relationship between the type A behavior pattern and vocational interest and job choice. The sample consisted of 288 male and female, Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti employees in various occupations. The two instruments used were: the Self-Directed Search (Holland 1985) as a measure of vocational interest, and the Type A Behavior Pattern Scale (Jomna 1994). The results show that individuals with a type A behavior pattern tend to be more interested in arts and enterprising jobs than type B individuals. It is therefore important to consider the type of behavior pattern when doing job selection or career counseling.
