ABSTRACT
In recent years there has been a growing demand for Arabic letters in CRT (cathode ray tube) displays. This demand is the result of the use of these displays in such rapidly expanding fields as text processing. Information displays in public areas and TV sub-titling. This paper describes the work carried out to overcome the difficulties associated with Arabic letters, such as the number of different shapes per letter and the absence of space between successive letters in one word, and presents the development of a dot-matrix fount for Arabic letters which has shown good definition and pleasing representation.
