Circular inclusion in an elastic half-plane

ABSTRACT
This paper is concerned with the problem of a circular inclusion undergoing spontaneous deformation in an elastic half plane with the leading edge free from displacements. Explicit expressions for complex potentials, stress and displacement fields are given in case of the inclusion and of the surrounding material as well. Numerical evaluation of hoop stress components along the common interface is carried out and the results are given in graphic form.
