ABSTRACT
Three methods were used to prepare plasma membranes of the cellular slime mould Dictyostelium discoideum. The concentration of combined hydroxyproline was determined in vegetative cells. Hydroxyproline was found in the plasma membrane of both glucose and no-glucose grown cells in the form of protein containing hydroxyproline. This type of protein remains unchanged during differentiation and can be detected in fruiting bodies, and its localisation is in the plasma membrane.
