ABSTRACT
Enrichment culture technique was employed to obtain 178 pure and mixed cultures from Kuwaiti soil and seawater. They were screened by three different methods to evaluate their relative growth on methanol. One of the promising mixed cultures was grown at 38-42°C in a 141 fermentor. Its doubling time (Td), specific growth rate (ى) and yield (Ys) values were 2.75 hr, 0.25 h-1 and 0.26, respectively. The crude protein in the lyophilized biomass was 72.2%.
