ABSTRACT
The results of the present study on seedling raising of paprika suggest that the effect of temperature can be modified by the alteration of light intensity. High light intensity (20 klux) increases the assimilating surface of the seedling, strengthens the root system, increases leaf number and stimulates bud formation. High temperature (above 25°C) is not required, especially when combined with low light intensity, while temperatures of 31°C or higher (even at 20 klux) are unfavourable for the raising of paprika seedlings.
