ABSTRACT
Zinc oxide films deposited on a glass substrate by successive chemical solution deposition (SCSD) were studied. The images obtained by scanning microscope are studied by using optically implemented mathematical morphology. The properties of the film such as transmittance, reflection and absorption are measured using optical techniques. In order to understand the correlation of the grain morphology, their orientation and size with optical or micro properties of the film, x-ray diffraction technique is applied. Micro properties of the film are studied using fluorescence spectroscopy as well. The film shows high transmittance and optical band-gap energy of 3.46 eV. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra and optical absorption characteristics due to different treatment of the films have been investigated. It was found that the PL peak intensity at 391 nm increases remarkably when air annealing of the film is performed. A blue shift of the PL peak is observed as well.
