ABSTRACT
Laboratory studies were conducted to determine the effects of some preparations of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) on larva and adult Bemisia tabaci. All tested concentrations affected the mortality rates of both larvae and adults. The effects of the biocide preparations on B. tabaci larvae were pronounced. Bt formulated as Dipel and Bactospeine showed latent effects on the reproductive potential of this insect ; the same pattern of a latent effect on reproductive poten tial was also observed with the use of Thuricide 48 LV, Thuricide 64 LV and Thuncide HPC. Bt formulation, Dipel had the lowest LC value (9.1 x iO IU/L) for adult B. tabaci. These results suggest a useful role of B. thuringiensis formulations in control measures against sucking insects such as white flies on vegetable crops.
