ABSTRACT

Twenty-three species of parasitic Copepoda, belonging to seven families (Bomolochidae, Taeniacanthidae, Chondracanthidae, Caligidae, Hatschekidae, Lernanthropidae and Lernaeopodidae) in two orders (Poecilostomatoida and Siphonostomatoida) are reported from 23 species of marine fishes collected in a local fish market in Kuwait. All of the recovered parasites are new to Kuwait. A brief discussion is given of each species of parasite in regard to its taxonomy, distribution and other aspects of its biology. A host-parasite list (in alphabetical order) is also provided for quick reference.
