ABSTRACT
The reaction rates of the decomposition of some substituted benzene diazonium salts
of o-aminobenzoic acid (I), m-aminobenzoic acid (II), p-aminobenzoic acid (III), and paminosulphonic acid (IV), are measured in acidic medium by means of polarographic technique. The reaction is first order kinetics with rates I > I1 > 111 > I V at any temperature indicating that the reaction is affected by electronic and resonance factors. Arrhenius parameters and entropies of activation for all reactions have been computed.
