Synthesis of 4-substituted arsabenzenes

ABSTRACT
It had been assumed that heterocycles similar to pyridine but containing heavier elements do not exist. This situation has changed radically during the last two decades, when several heterobenzene compounds (i.e. arsabenzene, phosphabenzene, stibabenzcne and hismabenzene) were synthesized. This paper reviews the latest work on the synthesis of 4- substituted arsabenzenes.
