Auther : M. NAZAR, M. AFZAL, J. H. MIRZA*, AND N. D. NIMER
ABSTRACT
Barley, a common feed stock, was found to be contaminated with Aspergillus cheoalieri, which was associated with the death of livestock. Chemical investigations of A. chevalieri grown on synthetic medium as well as on moist crushed barley led to the isolation and characterization of the toxicants flavoglaucin, auroglaucin, isodihydroglaucin, tetrahydroglaucin, and echinulin. The strain of Aspergillus checalieri NM-16 has been deposited with the American Type Culture Collection under accession number ATCC 60784.
