ABSTRACT
Al-Rawdhatain depression is considered to be one of the main sources of usable fresh groundwater in Kuwait. Hydro-chemistry of the groundwater is discussed in detail to show the variability. areal distribution of the major groundwater chemical types and the change of groundwater quality with time. The major groundwater types are: (1) sodium bicarbonate, (2) calcium bicarbonate. (3) sodium chloride, (4) sodium sulphate, and (5) calcium sulphate. The salinity of the production water wells ranged from 53CL1800 mg/l in 1966, and from 40-1500 mg./1 in 1981. The purpose of this paper is to identify the groundwater chemical types and to trace the groundwater quality trends since 1965.
