ABSTRACT
Simultaneous testing for homogeneity of subsets of multinomial populations over subsets of the categories in a contingency table set-up will be considered. A known chi-squared statistic (Goodman 1964) will be employed on collapsed subtables to formulate a simultaneous test procedure for homogeneity. Desirable properties (monotonicity, coherence, and bounded probability error rates) of the procedure follow directly from the general results of Gabriel (1969).
